How to Remove the CapCut Watermark (5 Easy Ways)

That little CapCut logo in the corner is the one thing standing between a clean edit and a post that looks fully professional. The good news: there are several ways to get rid of it, and at least one of them is completely free. Here are five methods, ranked from quickest to most thorough.

Where the watermark actually comes from

CapCut adds a watermark in two situations: when you use a template made by another creator, and on the end-card that's sometimes appended to exports. Plain edits you build from scratch often export clean already — so before anything else, check whether you're triggering one of those two cases.

Method 1 — Delete the end-card before exporting

This is the free fix most people miss. When you tap export, scroll to the very end of your timeline. If CapCut has added a closing "CapCut" clip, select it and delete it. Re-export and the end stamp is gone.

Method 2 — Avoid template watermarks

Templates are the biggest watermark culprit. Instead of exporting straight from a template, tap "Edit more" to drop the template's clips into a normal project. Rebuild the look with your own transitions and effects, and the export comes out clean.

Method 3 — Turn off "Add default ending"

  1. Open CapCut and go to Settings.
  2. Find the "Add default ending" toggle.
  3. Switch it off. New projects will no longer append the end-card automatically.

Method 4 — Subscribe to CapCut Pro

The official route. A Pro subscription removes watermarks everywhere, including on premium templates and effects, and unlocks 4K export. It's the cleanest option on iOS, where modified builds aren't possible — see our CapCut for iOS guide.

Method 5 — Use the Mod APK (Android)

On Android, the simplest path to guaranteed watermark-free exports — including from templates and at 4K — is the unlocked build. Every Pro lock is already open, so there's nothing to toggle and nothing to pay.

Grab it from our CapCut Mod APK download page and follow the four-step install. Exports come out clean at every resolution.

Which method should you use?

  • Quick free fix: delete the end-card (Method 1) or toggle off the default ending (Method 3).
  • Using templates a lot: rebuild in a normal project (Method 2) or use the Mod APK (Method 5).
  • On iPhone: subscribe to Pro (Method 4).
  • On Android, want everything free: the Mod APK (Method 5).

Whichever you pick, test with a short clip first so you know your export is clean before you publish the real thing.
